Our Projects

Adopt a Highway

Three times each year, Rotaract cleans up 3 miles of I-29 from 13th Avenue South to the Rose Creek Coulee. It's just part of what Rotaract does to make a difference in our local community. You can do your part, too, by honking if you see us out and about!

Bowl for Kids' Sake

Thanks in large part to a generous sponsorship by the local Rotary clubs, our club was able to send two members to this charity bowling event which benefits the local Big Brothers, Big Sisters club.

ESL Student Program

In conjunction with our local Rotary clubs, Rotaract members helped ESL (English as a Second Language) students at Carl Ben Eielson Middle School. The experience helps the students understand our language and culture better through conversation, while interacting one-on-one with a "grown-up" who helps them with their studies. It's also been a great way for Rotactors to learn a bit more about other cultures all around the world.

Lobster and Lefse Festival

What happens when you pair to unlikely foods? A community festival that raises money for two very worthy causes. Our club is assisting in both the planning and the actual operations of the Lobster and Lefse festival alongside Rotarians in the community. This project is giving our members very real world experience that's applicable to their everyday lives and careers. For more information on the festival, check out its website.

Mentorship Program

In 2009, our club started a mentorship program that pairs Rotaractors with a Rotarian in a field or career that interests the Rotaractor. This program enables Rotaractors in college or just starting out in the workforce to get a better idea of what a potential career in their chosen field may look like. Think of it like an internship, but without any rules or time limits. We will begin taking applications for the 2010 mentorship rotation soon. This program is open to both members and non-members (though, we ask you to join the club).
